There are 2 ways to populate your Question Library:
Creating Questions within the Question Library
You can create a variety of Question Types and Information Items. Most question types can be autogradedso the results can be sent to your Gradebook. See Understanding Question Types and Information Items for descriptions and links to specific instructions for creating questions.
1. Access Quizzes or Surveys and click
Question Library in the toolbar.
2. Create questions by choosing a question type from the Create New drop-down menu, then click Go.
3. Set up the question. Question set up varies by question type, but most types require the following information.
Assign each question a Title to easily distinguish one question from another when building new quizzes, re-using questions, and/or grading. (Titles will not appear to students in quizzes but are visible to the instructor.)
Set the Points value and, if you wish, the Difficulty of the question. (Difficulty Level is optional. It does not affect how Carmen grades questions; it does give you an additional way to organize them.)
Enter the Question Text in the box provided.
If desired, select an image to associate with the question by clicking Add a File.
If there is more than one answer option:
Choose enumeration (how you'd like answer options numbered) and the Style in which you'd like answer choices displayed (Vertical, Horizontal or from Drop-down menu).
Click the box next to randomize options to be randomize answer options when they're delivered to students (this option is not available for True/False questions).
If required, enter answer choices in the boxes provided. If you have more answer options than the number of spaces provided, click
Add Option to add more boxes. If you have fewer, click
Delete to Remove an answer box. (Note that you will not have this option if you are creating a True/False question or Long Answer question.)
You can also add Hints or Feedback to a question by expanding the appropriate menu near the bottom of the page.
You must enable Hints when setting up quiz properties in order for hints to appear to students. If hints are enabled, students can click a link to receive them. (See Setting Up Quiz Properties to enable hints for a quiz.)
Identify the correct or partially correct answers by assigning weights / percentages in the boxes to the right of each answer, if applicable (not all question types require weights). A student who provides the correct answer would receive 100% (full weight) of the points available for that question.
If the question has only one correct answer, set its weight to 100%. If partial credit is to be given for any answer, assign its weight appropriately. The total weight for the question may exceed 100%, but no single answer may exceed 100%.
4. Click Preview to view your question as it will appear during use and grading. Click Save to save the question and return to the main page, Save and Copy to save the question and create a new question of the same type and that retains the copied properties, or click Save and New to continue creating questions of the same type.
